According to the “Announcement of the Proposed Winners of the 2021 Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program” released by the China Post-doctor website, Dr. Kang Da and Dr. Wang Kuan, both applying for the Program with BJUT as the support institutions, were on the list. Since 2018, a total of 7 post-doctoral researchers from BJUT have been selected into the Program for four years in a row. Among them, three candidates specialize in Environmental Science and Engineering, one in Chemical Engineering and Technology, Transportation Engineering, Civil Engineering and Physics respectively.
Dr. Kang Da will join the BJUT's Postdoctoral Station of Environmental Science and Engineering and focus on biological treatment and reuse of wastewater and new autotrophic denitrification technology (anaerobic ammonia oxidation) with CAE academician Peng Yongzhen as his supervisor. Dr. Kang has published 22 papers, of which, six were SCI papers published as the first author with a cumulative impact factor of 47.543; among these six papers, three were published on Water Research, a top journal in the field of water treatment engineering, with a cumulative impact factor of 9.639. As the second inventor, Dr. Kang has received two national invention patents. He is the one and only winner of the Grand Prize for the 3rd Qian Yi Environment Award and the winner of National Scholarship for Graduate Students. Furthermore, he's also been selected into the IWA China YWP Rising Star Program.
Dr. Wang Kuan has joined the Postdoctoral Station of Materials Science and Engineering at BJUT with Prof. Sui Manling and Researcher Yan Pengfei as his co-supervisors. In 2014, Wang came to study in BJUT Institute of Microstructure and Properties of Solids for his master's and doctoral degrees, focusing on the failure mechanism and doping regulation of layered cathode materials for sodium ion batteries. He published six SCI papers as the first author during his doctoral study.
Established and implemented by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the National Postdoctoral Administration Committee, The “Postdoctoral Innovative Talent Support Program” is to support outstanding young talents. As an important initiative of young talent cultivation, the Program is aimed at nurturing a number of outstanding young scientific and technological innovation talents to enter the global forefront of science and technology. It collaborates with some national laboratories and key research bases to place greater focus on national major strategies, strategic high-tech and the frontier areas of basic sciences.
