· Convocation Session of the 2021 Online Overseas Training Program Was Held

On July 21, Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) held the Convocation Session of the 2021 Online Overseas Faculty Training Program under the theme of “World-class Universities Development and Governance”.

This training program scheduled from June 1 to July 6 was jointly organized by BJUT and Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. A total of 45 administrative staff signed up for this online & offline course.

At the meeting, delegates of the trainees reported on their learning outcomes in scientific research, discipline construction, personnel management, student culvtivation and management, and offered constructive suggestions for various undertakings of BJUT based on its comparison with NTU. During the discussion session, Guo Fu, Vice President of BJUT, had in-depth exchanges with all the trainees on government-university-enterprise cooperation, the personnel promotion mechanism, international personnel training, and student and alumni affairs. President Nie Zuoren and Vice President Guo Fu awarded certificates of completion to all the trainees.

President Nie Zuoren, on behalf of BJUT, congratulated all the trainees for completing the training course, and emphasized the importance of faculty training by overseas universities in building a team of international faculty. He said that world-class universities should not only be academically advanced, but also excelled in university governance capability and culture. He hoped that the departments of BJUT could be aware of the gap between BJUT and world-class universities, and evaluate the University properly, hence earnestly contributing to the development of a world-class university with international influence and capital characteristics.
