BJUT Professor Appointed as Deputy Director of National Expert Committee on Climate Change

The 4th inaugural meeting of the National Expert Committee on Climate Change was held at the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) on September 23, 2021. Xie Zhenhua, Special Advisor for Climate Change Affairs (MEE), and other leaders from the CMA, NDRC, Ministry of Ecology and Environment and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs attended the meeting.

Pan Jiahua, Member of the Academic Board, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), and Professor of the College of Economics and Management at BJUT, was appointed as Deputy Director of the 4th National Expert Committee on Climate Change from August 2021 to August 2025.

The National Expert Committee on Climate Change, established in 2006, has a high-calibre team of senior specialists in fields including climate change science, economy, ecology, forestry, agriculture, energy, geology, transportation, architecture and international relations. It is responsible for supporting decision-making on major climate change issues and offering advice on China's long-term policy-making for climate change.
