On October 20, BJUT-Xiaomi Innovation and Entrepreneurship Studio was launched. The studio is an industry-university-research (IUR) platform specifically for the teaching and training of high-calibre innovative talents, which is also the first of its kind between Xiaomi and Chinese Mainland University. Prof. Guo Fu, Vice President of BJUT, Mr.Wang Xiang, alumnus of BJUT, Partner and President of Xiaomi, and Ms. Wang Hui, HR manager of Xiaomi attended the unveiling ceremony.
A cooperation agreement was signed and the Certificate of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Instructor was awarded to Mr. Wang Xiang and Ms. Wang Hui. Mr. Wang said that Xiaomi would create more opportunities for BJUT students by carrying out extensive and in-depth cooperation with BJUT in such areas as technological contests, graduate academic forums and the incubation of innovative and entrepreneurial projects.
Prof. Nie Zuoren, President of BJUT, had a fruitful discussion with Mr.Wang Xiang on the joint cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial talents.
The representatives from BJUT and Xiaomi visited the studio and mapped out the blueprint for its development. Xiaomi demonstrated their latest technological achievements. Meanwhile, the gold prize winners for China College Students' "Internet+" Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition from BJUT introduced their projects.
In the future, the two sides will stay committed to win-win cooperation, providing a variety of courses and projects to promote students' awareness and ability of innovation and entrepreneurship.
