On January 10, 2022, BJUT's "International Cooperation Cultivation Program for MD-PhD Innovative Talents in Civil Engineering", submitted by the Faculty of Architecture, Civil and Transportation Engineering, was approved and will be funded by the China Scholarship Council(CSC). This is the third consecutive year BJUT has received this funding.

The program is based on cooperation between Beijing University of Technology and Kobe University in Japan, and focuses on frontier research topics in civil engineering. From 2022 to 2024, three PhD students and six master's students studying civil engineering from BJUT will be selected to attend the program and will travel to Kobe University for joint training.

The International Cooperation Cultivation Program for Innovative Talents by CSC is aimed to cultivate the innovativeness, global vision and competitiveness of talented individuals. The program sponsors high-level universities at home and abroad to exchange and jointly train interdisciplinary individuals in critical and compound skills. The requirements of the program are that the funded disciplines are provided with a sound basis for cooperation, a well-designed training plan and precise assessment criteria.

BJUT prioritizes the cultivation of talented individuals with global vision. In the future the University will introduce more oppotunities and programs, in cooperation with other international high-level universities, for students and also faculty members.
