Warsaw University of Technology delegagtion visits Beijing University of Technology

On December 9, Krzysztof Lewenstein, Vice President of Warsaw University of Technology led a delegation visiting Beijing University of Technology and attended the first“Belt and Road” Sino-Polish University Consortium Art Festival and Art&Design Competition. Liu Gonghui, President of BJUT and Deputy Secretary of the BJUT CPC Committee, met with the delegation on behalf of the university. Vice President Wu Bin and relevant heads from the International Office and College of International Education also attended the meeting.

President Liu Gonghui expressed a warm welcome and sincere thanks to Vice President Krzysztof Lewenstein and his delegation .He pointed out that BJUT has carried out multi-level cooperation with the Institute of Metal Forming, Welding and Casting of Warsaw University of Technology in scientific research and teacher-student exchange visits since the 1980s. He hoped that the two universities would continue to deepen all-round and multi-level cooperation of “UPS”, especially multi-level practical cooperation in the fields of computer science, physics, mathematics and new materials.

Vice President Krzysztof Lewenstein congratulated President Liu on the successful hosting of the 2018 first“Belt and Road” Sino-Polish University Consortium Art Festival and Art&Design Competition at BJUT and thanked the university for its warm reception. He highly praised the promotion and deepening of communication and cooperation between member universities by the Sino-Polish University Consortium, introduced the latest policies and development trends of Warsaw University of Technology and Polish higher education, and hoped that the two universities would continue to strengthen multi-level cooperation in the future.

The two parties signed a student exchange agreement, under which the two universities can send four students to each other’s universities for communication and study free of tuition each year. The signing of the student exchange agreement opens a new chapter of cooperation between the two universities in the field of talent training. Both of the parties also exchanged views on visits and exchanges of teachers in basic subjects, international student scholarships and scientific research cooperation in preponderant subjects.

The “UPS mode” is the multi-level international cooperation mode proposed by President Liu Gonghui at the first Annual Council of “Belt and Road” Sino-Polish University Consortium. It is a mode of “University to University, Professor to Professor, Student to Student”, i.e. University-Professor-Student mode.

Founded in 1826, Warsaw University of Technology is a research-oriented university with more than 2,000 professors, lecturers and 30,000 students. It is the largest and highest-ranked engineering university in Poland. The university has 20 Faculties, of which technical engineering courses cover a wide range, including architecture, mathematics, physics, communication engineering, biotechnology, robotics, environmental science, applied chemistry, aeronautics, and astronautics, etc. WUT Business School also has some non- science & engineering disciplines such as enterprise management, administration and social science.
