On March 11, Mr. Nie Zuoren, President and academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, delivered a keynote speech titling "Rooted in Beijing, Embracing the World: Advancing Reforms to Build World-Class University" at the 6th TCTF-NTU Advanced Leadership Development Forum.
This year's forum, hosted by the Graduate School of Public Administration, Nanyang Technological University, gathered online leading universities and businesses from China and Singapore to exchange experience and share insights on "Sustainable Development and Global Creative Talent Nurturing in the Post Pandemic Era". Six years on, the forum has grown into a high-level platform that facilitates the mutual learning and cooperation between the two countries.
In reviewing BJUT's yesterday and today, President Nie highlighted the University's goals and steps for its reforms in talent cultivation, discipline construction, technological innovation, professional development, social services and global exchanges. Despite the evolving international landscape and the Covid-19 pandemic, as President Nie pointed out, BJUT is taking a holistic and innovative approach to propelling its comprehensive reforms towards a world-class university, contributing to the building of the capital city into a hub for technological innovation, and the country into one featuring carbon peak and neutrality. President Nie also stressed that BJUT was an outward-looking university that had forged close ties with NTU in both student exchange and staff professional development. He hoped that the collaboration between the two sides could be further elevated, delivering more tangible benefits to all faculty, staff, and students.
