· 21st Chinese Bridge Polish Regional Final Successfully Held at the BJUT-Opole Confucius Institute

On May 26th, the Polish Regional Final of the 21st Chinese Bridge (Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students), themed with "One World, One Family", was successfully held at the BJUT-Opole Confucius Institute.

During the heated competition, 14 contestants fully showed their Chinese language proficiency and deep understanding of the Chinese culture through speech-making, impromptu quiz and talent show. Aleksandra Łukasiewicz (Chinese name "Liu Ailin") from the Confucius Institute at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan, won the championship and will represent Poland in the following-up competition.

Mr. Yi Jun, Educational Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Poland, attended the event and delivered a keynote speech. Mr. Yi highlighted that the 6 Confucius Institutes and 5 Confucius Classrooms in Poland had made substantial contribution to the promotion of Chinese language and culture and the Embassy would support as ever the development of all Institutes and Classrooms.

Besides the captivating contest, BJUT-Opole Confucius Institute also hosted a ceremony, presented by Yi Jun, Zuzanna Donath-Kasiura, Deputy Marshal of the Opolskie Voivodeship, Marcin Lorenc, Rector of Opole University of Technology, to unveil the newly arrived statue of the Confucius.

The Beijing-Opole Confucius Institute (CI) was co-established by BJUT and Opole University of Technology in 2008, and three affiliated Confucius Classrooms (CC) were launched in 2019. Today, CI & CC have become a major platform for the promotion of Chinese language and culture in Poland, and made significant contribution to the people-to-people and cultural exchanges between the two countries.
