Review and Awards Ceremony on BJUT's Services to Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics Convened

On August 18, a ceremony themed "Dream for the Future" was convened to review BJUT's Services to the Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics and to reward individuals who gave outstanding performance as volunteers. This ceremony also marked the start of the construction of the 2022 Winter Olympics & Paralympics Museum at the University, to be added to the existing museum on campus of the 2008 Summer Olympics.

Jiang Zeting, Secretary of the CPC BJUT Committee, pointed out in his speech that BJUTers not only witnessed but also participated in the construction of a “Dual Olympic City”. He also emphasized the significance of the ceremony in summarizing the valuable experience gained by supporting the Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics, the importance of inheriting the spirit of the events, and how this participation has promoted the development of BJUT.

At the ceremony, participants recognized as "Outstanding BJUTers Serving the Beijing Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games" were awarded.

In order to further tell the story of the Winter Olympics and drive more people to carry forward the spirit of the Beijing Winter Olympics, the University has formed a group of faculty members and students to enable them to tell others their stories, as volunteers, of the Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics and to carry forward the Olympic spirit.

After the Summer Olympic Games in 2008, BJUT built an Olympic-themed museum in its Olympic Stadium, the first of its kind among higher education institutions, to serve as a key educational base to remember and inherit the culture of the Olympics. The museum will be upgraded as a memorial of both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games and will display highlights of the Games to inspire all BJUTers to continue to contribute to Beijing as a "Dual Olympic City".
