· BJUT Celebrates the 38th Teachers' Day

On September 8, Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) held a conference to celebrate the 38th Teachers' Day.

Jiang Zeting, Secretary of CPC BJUT Committee, pointed out that BJUT has comprehensive and sound plans for faculty team building. He raised three expectations: first, all faculty and staff should shoulder the core responsibilities of talent training, scientific research, social service, cultural inheritance and innovation and international exchange and cooperation, playing their part in accelerating BJUT's pace towards becoming a first-class world university; second, they should, in the spirit of pursuing excellence and innovation, contribute to BJUT's ability to serve the economic and social development of China and its capital city Beijing; third, they should uphold BJUT's motto of "Persistent Striving the Principle, Pursuit of Innovation the Path" and act as role-models for students.

President Nie Zuoren extended his sincere gratitude and paid his tribute to all the in-service faculty and staff who are conscientiously fulfilling their duties, and to all retired colleagues who are still contributing their strength and wisdom to the University's development. He also welcomed this year's new recruits. In his speech, he hoped that the BJUT faculty team could hone their pedagogical methods and also uphold a high standard of morality. He also encouraged all BJUTers to forge ahead with determination and innovation, and participate in the research of major demands and key fields, providing intellectual support for the development of the country and the capital city.

At the conference, outstanding individuals who had won awards at the municipal level and above in the past year were announced and commended. The warm greetings were sent to those faculty members who have stayed on the front line of education for over 30 years.
