· BJUT Unveils the 12th Science and Technology Festival

On September 22, Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) held the opening ceremony of the 12th Science and Technology Festival, and the launching ceremony of the Online Exhibition of Scientific and Technological Achievements.

Four students, as the "Technology Star" winners, shared their experience of planning their scientific research careers, solving research problems and competing in science and technology extracurricular competitions. Awards were given to outstanding instructors and to representatives of winning teams involved in extracurricular science and technology competitions.

The Science and Technology Festival has been held for 11 consecutive years. Overall, over 750 lectures by renowned scholars and academic presentations by Master's and Ph.D students have been given, over 890 featured activities have taken place and over 1200 scientific and technological achievements exhibited. Over these 11 years, more than 98,000 faculty members and students have participated in the Festival. These events have played a major role in promoting students' scientific and technological practices and in promoting scientific and technological innovation on campus.

This year, the online exhibition displays 100 technological achievements of BJUT students in many fields, such as big data, artificial intelligence, the internet of things, smart city, and smart manufacturing. They represent the students' endeavors associated with solving social problems through integrity-based approaches to their scientific and technological research.

During the Festival, BJUT will also organize students' participation in a series of off-campus science and technology events, such as China Postgraduate Innovation & Practice Competitions, the Capital University Students' Creative Market, and promotions of students' innovative scientific and technological work and patents, to broaden the horizons of those who are interested in scientific and technological innovation.
