On September 28, Nie Zuoren, President of BJUT and member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, met with Maria Wejs-Domzalska, First Counselor of the Polish Embassy in China.
On behalf of the University, President Nie extended a warm welcome to Counselor Wejs-Domzalska, expressing his sincere thanks to the Embassy for its solid support for BJUT. He introduced the University's history, disciplines, development strategies, research efforts, and international exchanges. He emphasized the considerable achievements made by BJUT-Opole Confucius Institute and its three affiliated Confucius Classrooms, as well as the "Belt & Road" Sino-Polish University Consortium. He also shared his high hopes that in the future, BJUT and its Polish partners could further mobilize resources to promote academic exchanges and pragmatic collaboration in high-end industries including advanced manufacturing, carbon neutrality, urban construction, and artificial intelligence.
Counselor Wejs-Domzalska greatly thanked BJUT for the reception and fully appreciated the University's role in the educational and cultural exchanges between China and Poland and the friendship between the two peoples. She briefed on Polish universities' endeavors in talent cultivation, scientific innovation, and international cooperation. In the future, as Counselor Wejs-Domzalska said, the Polish Embassy in China will continue to support BJUT's exchanges and cooperation with more renowned Polish universities in such areas as staff & student exchanges and research collaboration to strengthen the ties between the two countries and the two peoples.
Counselor Wejs-Domzalska and the BJUT International Office conducted in-depth discussions on the current operations and future planning of the Confucius Institute & Classrooms and Sino-Polish University Consortium.
