On April 20, the 2023 Board Meeting of the BJUT-Opole Confucius Institute and Affiliated Classrooms (CI & CC) was held. BJUT Vice President Zhai Tianrui and Opole University of Technology Rector Marcin Lorenc both delivered speeches. Representatives from Opole University of Technology, Bialystok University of Technology, University of Silesia in Katowice and Silesian University of Technology attended the meeting, as did directors of key departments from BJUT.
Lorenc reviewed the development and significant achievements of the Opole Confucius Institute over the past fifteen years and complimented CI & CC for its commitment to Chinese language teaching in Poland and people-to-people exchanges between China and Poland. He emphasized that, as part of BJUT's overall planning, CI & CC have cooperated closely, which has been widely recognized in local communities. He also stated that the new model of co-establishing Confucius Institutes to foster people-to-people exchanges between China and Poland will be explored and developed further.
Zhai Tianrui praised CI & CC for its role in boosting interactions between Chinese and Polish universities and the advancement of international Chinese language education. He expressed gratitude to all the personnel from both countries who supported CI & CC. He noted that BJUT would continue to perform overall planning and support work related to CI & CC, as well as promote inter-school collaboration between the two countries, and strengthen friendly exchanges and mutual trust between their peoples.
The attendees heard CI & CC's annual work report and plan, then deliberated and approved the related yearly operating budget and final accounts. They addressed, among other things, the BJUT-Opole Confucius Institute's 15th anniversary celebration and future exchange visits between Chinese and Polish colleges and universities, reaching agreement on working concertedly to achieve high-quality sustainable, development for CI & CC.
