On June 20th, the initial meeting for the construction of Daxing Hydrogen Industry and Education Integration Base of Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) took place in the Daxing International Hydrogen Energy Demonstration Zone. The primary objective of the meeting was to promote the integrated and coordinated development of education, science and technology, plus talent cultivation, to support the "dual carbongoals" strategy while deeply integrating into, and facilitating, the development of the Beijing International Science and Technology Innovation Center. This was also an effort to advance the synergistic development of government, industry, university, and research.
This initial meeting saw the presence of Liu Yuhui, the Deputy Mayor of Beijing, as well as leading officials from the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, the Science and Technology Commission, the Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, the Development and Reform Commission, andthe Daxing District. Other attendees of the event included those in charge of state-owned, municipal, and private enterprises, alongside members of the BJUT leadership team, BJUT academicians, and representatives from BJUT's faculty member and students.
The leaders and guests in attendance jointly launched the construction of the Integration Base. They also unveiled plaques for the newly established Hydrogen Institute of Beijing University of Technology, the Beijing Daxing District-Beijing University of Technology Hydrogen Energy Industry Technology Verification and Demonstration Center, and the Beijing University of Technology National University Science and Technology Park in the Daxing District.
Relying on the Hydrogen Institute of BJUT, the University will conduct research in areas such as the efficient production of green hydrogen, key material technology for high-performance hydrogen fuel cells, key technologies for hydrogen internal combustion engines, and hydrogen energy storage and transportation technologies. Additionally, in order to provide faculty teams with a channel for the implementation and commercialization of scientific research outcomes, the University will check and develop promising technologies in the Hydrogen Energy Industry Technology Verification and Demonstration Center. Once the technologies reach a mature state, collaboration with leading hydrogen companies, including alumni enterprises, will be established, leveraging the resources of the Beijing University of Technology National University Science and Technology Park at Daxing District. This collaborative effort aims to facilitate the implementation and commercialization of research outcomes, address bottlenecks and obstacles in the hydrogen energy industry chain, and provide critical technological support for the development of the hydrogen energy industry in Beijing and across China.
