Vice Marshal of Opole Voivodeship, Poland Highly Commends the BJUT-Opole Confucius Institute at the 2023 World Chinese Language Conference

The 2023 World Chinese Language Conference was held in Beijing from December 7th to 9th. The Conference was attended by around 2,000 people including scholars, governmental officials, representatives of international organizations and leaders of international language and cultural institutions from home and abroad. Zuzanna Donath-Kasiura, the Vice-Marshal of the Opole Voivodeship, Poland, attended the Conference at the invitation of the Ministry of Education of China. She delivered a speech at the main forum, highly praising the BJUT-Opole Confucius Institute, a joint endeavor of the Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) and the Opole University of Technology, emphasizing its significant contribution to local education, culture, and economic development.

In her speech, Zuzanna Donath-Kasiura said that since its inception in 2008, the BJUT-Opole Confucius Institute has not only presented a language realm but has also showcased China's rich and vibrant traditional culture through diverse language teaching and cultural events. Additionally, acting as a key means of liaison between China and Poland, the Confucius Institute plays a pivotal role in fostering exchange and collaboration in education, technology, economy, and culture between the two nations.

During the Conference, Vice President of BJUT, Qiao Junfei, met Mrs. Donath-Kasiura's delegation and discussed international Chinese language education and the innovative development of Confucius Institutes. Both parties expressed the hope that, by leveraging the role of the Confucius Institute as a bridge, they would further enhance cooperation between China and Poland in talent development, scientific research, innovation, and social services.
