Delegation of Don State Technical University Visits BJUT

On May 24, a delegation from Don State Technical University (DSTU) in Russia, led by Rector Meskhi Besarion and Vice Rector Dmitry Djedirov, visited BJUT. Jiang Zeting, Secretary of CPC BJUT Committee welcomed the delegation, and Qiao Junfei, Deputy Secretary of CPC BJUT Committee, chaired the meeting.

Jiang Zeting provided an overview of BJUT's history, academic disciplines, scientific research, technology transfer, and international exchange and cooperation. He highlighted the University's mission of "Serving the Capital City and the Country with Science and Technology", focusing on key areas such as carbon neutrality, urban renewal, artificial intelligence, and high-end think tanks. BJUT has been driving high-quality development through digitalization, organization, and internationalization, contributing to the capital city Beijing's strategic position as the center for international exchanges and technological innovation. The signing of MOU at the meeting is of high relevance as 2024 marks the 75th anniversary of China-Russia diplomatic ties and thebeginning of the "China-Russia Years of Culture". Building on the joint China-Russia Transportation Infrastructure Frontier Academic Symposiumin 2023, Jiang Zeting expressed hope for further cooperation in talent cultivation, scientific research, and other areas, aiming to make new and significant contributions to educational and cultural exchanges between China and Russia.

Rector Meskhi Besarion expressed gratitude for the warm reception from BJUT. He introduced DSTU and its collaboration with Chinese universities. Founded in 1930, DSTU is the largest comprehensive research university in southern Russia. It has recently been focusing on advancing disciplines such as artificial intelligence, civil engineering, mechanical manufacturing, transportation, and aerospace. He noted the strategic alignment and academic synergy between DSTU and BJUT, expressing hope for further enhancement of mutual trust and deepening of cooperation in the future.
