On June 12, the 2024 Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Universities New Engineering Innovation Achievement Exhibition was held at Tiangong University. Over 140 new innovative engineering achievements from ten universities in the region were exhibited. BJUT's Professor Zuo Guoyu with the "Portable Powered Knee Exoskeleton Robot" team and Professor Zhang Wenxue with the "Key Technologies of Swivel Bridge Construction" team presented their scientific and technological innovations at the event.
The "Portable Powered Knee Exoskeleton Robot" project has effectively improved the quality of life for the elderly and people with disabilities, integrating scientific innovation with humanitarian care. The "Key Technologies of Swivel Bridge Construction" project tightly integrates theoretical learning with engineering practice, providing students with opportunities to learn in practice.
Both projects have been applied in real life and industry, not only highlighting the University's in-depth exploration in the fields of healthcare and infrastructure construction, but also reflecting its strength in cross-disciplinary integration and innovation.
The two projects showcased in this exhibition have garnered attention and interviews from media outlets, including the People's Daily. Gao Wenbin, a member of the "Portable Powered Knee Exoskeleton Robot" team, told reporters that "This exhibition has been particularly rewarding for us. We visited many projects and found everyone to be enthusiastic and full of ideas. Through these mutual exchanges, we have also broadened our horizons."
BJUT has always emphasized practical teaching, deeply integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills to enhance students' professionalism, practical abilities, and innovative spirit.
