On July 2, Beijing-Dublin International College (BDIC) at BJUT held its 2024 UCD Conferring Ceremony. The ceremony was attended by Liu Zhaomiao, Vice President of BJUT; Colin Scott, Registrar and Vice President for Academic Affairs of UCD; BDIC's faculty members; the graduates of the Class of 2024, and their parents.
Liu Zhaomiao extended her sincere congratulations to the graduates on successfully completing their studies and obtaining their degrees. She highlighted that this year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Ireland. As the first joint educational institution between the two countries, BDIC has gained widespread recognition for its high-quality teaching and educational achievements over the past 12 years. This success is a result of the joint efforts of both universities and the cooperation between their faculty members, staff, and students. She encouraged the graduates to uphold the mottos of both universities and continue striving as they embark on the next chapters of their lives.
Colin Scott said that UCD attaches great importance to international cooperation and is committed to spreading Ireland's unique culture. Through the partnership of the two universities, BDIC has provides a high-quality educational experience, equipping students with professional expertise and critical thinking abilities. He wished the graduates success in their future endeavors and welcomed them into the UCD's alumni network.
During the ceremony, Colin Scott read the degree conferral announcement for the Class of 2024 and awarded degrees to each graduate. The principal of BDIC also delivered a speech, congratulating the graduates and wishing them all the best for the future.
Before the ceremony, Liu Zhaomiao held talks with Colin Scott, reviewing BDIC's outstanding educational achievements and social impact over the years. They explored future educational strategies as well as work plans, and discussed ways to strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two universities.
