A research team led by Professor Jinshu Wang from the College of Materials Science and Engineering at BJUT recently published their work, "Superlattice cathodes endow cation and anion co-intercalation for high-energy-density aluminium batteries," in the prestigious journal Nature Communications. The first author is Ms Fangyan Cui, a Ph.D student from College of Materials Science and Engineering. Professor Yuxiang Hu and Hongyi Li from BJUT, along with Professor Peng Shengjie from Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, served as co-corresponding authors.
This research work marks another major achievement from the high safety energy storage and conversion team, following their recent work on high-entropy cathodes oxides that promote electron transfer efficiency with improved lattice tolerance, achieving high-performance aqueous zinc-ion batteries (Adv. Mater. 2023, 35, 2301538). Meanwhile, the another work from the research team reveals the anomalous lattice evolution mechanism towards high-entropy cathode materials in multivalent ions batteries, which contributes to one of the best ultra-stable aqueous aluminium-ion batteries (Adv. Mater. 2024, 36, 2404172).
