Personal Statement

Chen Hao, Associate Professor and Supervisor of Postgraduate Students, currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Humanities and Social Sciences Department at Beijing University of Technology and the head of Linguistics and Applied Linguistics within the Foreign Languages and Literature discipline. She holds a Ph.D. in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics from the Center for Foreign Language Education and Research at Beijing Foreign Studies University. Professor Chen serves as a Council Member of the Writing Teaching and Research Committee of the China Association for Comparative Studies of English and Chinese and is an expert for Promoting Research in the Multi-language Teaching Reform Virtual Community of Teaching and research of the Ministry of Education. She has been awarded a grant from the Chinese Ministry of Education's "National Scholarship Fund" to serve as a visiting scholar at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand and has been selected for various talent programs, including those organized by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, the Municipal Organization Department, and Beijing University of Technology's Teacher Capability Enhancement Program for Basic Instruction.

Professor Chen has presided over 12 provincial and university-level teaching and research projects and participated in a key project funded by the National Social Science Fund. She has published 12 articles in CSSCI journals and key journals such as Foreign Languages in China, Foreign Language Education in China, Foreign Language World Technology Enhanced Foreign Languages.

She has received over 30 provincial, ministerial, and university-level teaching and mentoring awards, including four at the provincial and ministerial level. Her major awards include the First Prize in the Teaching Thesis Competition and the Third Prize in the Teaching Competition of the Beijing Municipal Youth Teachers' Basic Skills Competition, the Coach Award for the Third Place in the 15th National English Debating Competition, as well as titles such as Outstanding Teacher at Beijing University of Technology, the First Batch of Senior Lecturers, the First Batch of Outstanding Young Lecturers, the First Prize for the Effectiveness of Ideological and Political Work, the First Prize for Excellent Teaching Quality, and the Exemplary Teacher Award. She has mentored over 60 undergraduate students who have won Special Prizes and First Prizes in various national academic and speaking competitions.
