Dr. Wen-Long Shang is currently a Lecturer in the College of Metropolitan Transportation, Beijing University of Technology (BJUT). He is the recipient of the Youth Project of Beijing High Level Talent Program, and he is appointed as Honorary Senior Research Fellow and part-time Doctoral Supervisor of Imperial College London. Prior to joining BJUT, he has received the Ph.D. degree from the Centre for Transport Studies, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Imperial College London.  He has already published more than 60 academic articles in peer-reviewed journals and conferences (including more than 40 SCI indexed papers, 6 ESI Top 1% highly cited papers, 3 ESI 0.1% hot papers), such as Applied Energy, Transportation Research Part A, Renewable Sustainable and Energy Reviews, IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems, Resources Conservation & Recycling, IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics, Journal of Cleaner Production, Energy and Transpormetrica A: transport science, obtained 2 software copyrights and 1 patent, and participated in the writing of a book Big Data & Mobility-as-a service (wrote one chapter of the book) and a report for Asian Development Bank Institute: Future Hydrogen Society in Asia and the Pacific.  He has received several academic awards, such as Highly Cited Research Paper Award of Applied Energy 2021, Outstanding Special Corresponding Expert of FEM, Imperial College Trust funding, MIT International Conference Best Poster Award, Chinese Government Scholarship and Outstanding Reviewer Award of IJTST. In addition, he was invited to serve as a Special Corresponding Expert of Frontiers of Engineering Management (operated by Chinese Academy of Engineering), also serves as members of editorial board for several international academic journals, such as Advances in Applied Energy, Complexity, International Journal of Transportation Science and Technology, Journal of Traffic and Transportation Engineering, Frontiers in Future Transportation, and sustainable futures, and he serves as Co-Lead/Lead/Manage Guest Editors of several top journals, such as Transportation Research Part A: Policy and Practice (IF:6.615), Applied Energy (IF:11.446), IEEE Transactions on Intelligent Transportation Systems (IF:9.551), Renewable Sustainable and Energy Reviews (IF:16.799). He is also the reviewer of more than 60 journals and conferences. He has participated in National Key Project and the EU 7th Framework Project, and currently he is in charge of or participates more than 10 research projects, such as Natural Science Foundation of China, Natural Science Foundation in Beijing, Special Grant of Postdoctoral Research Foundation in China. As well as this, he has organized CSSA-UK Academic Forum & the 1st Young Scholars Summit, UK Entrepreneurship Competition, the 2019 Pre-Conference of CITTP in BJUT. He has also served as the Co-organizing Secretary Chair of 2020 MIT International Conference, the Session Chair of Applied Energy Symposium in Tokyo, the Track Chair of International Conference of Applied Energy (ICEA).

His research interests include:  intelligent transport system, emergency management of transport systems, energy conservation and emission reduction of transport systems, traffic big data, smart city, large scale optimization and so on. He has extensive contacts and collaborations with many TOP International Academic Institutions and Scholars, such as Imperial College London, Cambridge University, Oxford University, UCL, MIT, Tokyo University. The postgraduate he supervises will enjoy more opportunities to directly participate in international collaborations and exchange learning.
