Shiyan works as a Lecturer and Master Supervisor for the College of Art and Design in Beijing University of Technology. He has been engaged in teaching for 10 years. He has presided on contemporary landscape painting creation and research, and Chinese ancient mural research. He has published 9 academic papers on major journals including 2 CSSCI papers and 8 academic books. He has created over 100 representative art works and attended over 40 art exhibitions, forming a unique art style of himself.
