Personal Statement

Dr. Li, Rui, an assistant professor of Beijing University of Technology and supervisor of Master’s students, graduated from the University of Houston, US with a Ph.D. degree in chemical engineering (Best Dissertation Award granted). He was elected and awarded the honorary titles of “High-level Talent of Beijing with Overseas Experience”, “100 Doctoral and Postdoctoral Innovation Figures of Guangdong Province”, and “High-level Talent of Shenzhen with International Experiences (Peacock Program)”. His research features internationality and interdisciplinarity, attempting to debottleneck real problems from the perspective of fundamental sciences. He has published 14 SCI papers, among which 10 is first, co-first or corresponding author (9 ranking JCR Q1). 12 Chinese/PCT patent applications and 2 US patent applications have been filed with his discoveries, among which 8 have been granted till now. He also served as one of the main contributing authors in the composition of several professional books including Assessment and Outlook of the Development of Non-CO2 Greenhouse Gases Emission Reduction Technologies (Administrative Center for China's Agenda 21, the Ministry of Science and Technology of China). His research has been sponsored by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (General Program and Young Scientists Grant), China Postdoctoral Science Foundation (Special Grant and General Program), etc., with a total funding exceed CNY 1,800k. He also served as a reviewer for many renowned international journals such as Chem. Eng. J., ChemComm, AIChE J., RSC Adv., and CrystEngComm.
