Personal statement
Dr. Wang Zhan received his Bachelor’s degree in 1987 from East China institute of Chemical Industry, Shanghai, China. He was selected as a Preparer to Study Abroad during the post-graduate in Department of Chemical engineering in Tsinghua University in 1990, Beijing, China. He received his Ph.D. degree in 1995 from Russian St. Petersburg Technological University (scholarship by China scholarship council from 1991 to 1995), St. Petersburg, Russia. As a visiting research professor, he was worked one year (March 2009 to March 2010) at George Belfort Group in Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, Troy, USA. He was promoted to a full professor in Beijing University of Technology of China in Dec. 2005. He also worked as Chinese Expert Team Leader of water technology for world skills competition in March 2019 and Co-Editor-in-Chief of Journal of Chemical Engineering Research Updates and editor of a series Chinese journals, such as Technology of Water Treatment September 2013, Membrane Science and Technology (September 2003 to September 2007). Dr. Wang has co-authored more than 70 papers in peer-reviewed international journals. More than 140 research papers were published in Journal of Materials Chemistry A, Desalination, Chemical Engineering Journal, Journal of Membrane Science, Science of the Total Environment, Journal of the Taiwan Institute of Chemical Engineers, J Chemical Technology and Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering Research and Design, Desalination and Water Treatment, Separation Science and Technology, Chinese journal and Russian journal as the first author or corresponding author. As the editor in chief of 3 academic works and 2 textbooks, membrane separation technology has been cited by more than 100 professional books and cited more than 1000 times by journal articles of home and abroad. He was also awarded The Excellent Textbook Award of Beijing in 2008., he was awarded the first prize and the third prize for Outstanding Teaching Achievement of Beijing University of technology in 2008 and 2003, respectively. In addition, he was awarded the Teaching Excellence Award of Beijing University of Technology in 2010, the second prize for teaching achievement of Beijing University of technology.
