2. Biomedical image processing: intelligent diagnosis and treatment of diseases based on medical images; design of computer-aided treatment system for tumor thermal ablation.

Personal statement
Wu Shuicai, the doctoral supervisor, is a celebrated teacher in Beijing. He received a Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Prof. Wu is mainly engaged in teaching and research in biomedical information processing and medical instrument design. He has been the principal investigator (PI) of over 10 research projects granted by the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and provincial-level foundations such as the Beijing Natural Science Foundation. Prof. Wu has edited 4 textbooks or monographs. In 2013, he won the first prize and the second prize of Beijing Education and Teaching Achievements.
