Personal statement

Dr. Jinzhi Wu, born in 1969, is an associate professor at Beijing University of Technology (BJUT). His research interests include analysis and design of large-scale spatial structures and structural health monitoring. Besides his teaching and research work, he has designed dozens of spatial structures, including several hangars and stadia. He has taken part in several research projects on seismic design of spatial structures funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NNSFC). He is in charge of two projects funded byNNSFCwith the titles of “FE Model Updating and Health Monitoring of Large-scale Spatial Structures Considering the Effects of Roof Coverings” and “Study on Elasto-plastic Stability and Failure Mechanism under Seismic Motion of Aluminum Alloy Single-Layer Spherical Reticulated Shells”. He has published more than 40 papers. He is the general secretary of the Spatial Structures Association of China Steel Construction Society and is a member of the Membership Committee of the International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS).
