Research Breakthroughs

· The variable polarity plasma welding technology was successfully applied to the welding of Tiangong-1.

· BJUT research team participated in the teleoperation task of "Chang'e-3 Lunar Rover" and independently completed the task planning software, the manipulator positioning detection planning software and the dynamics calculation software.

· BIM technology was implemented in the construction of the tallest skyscraper in Beijing - CITIC Tower.

· The development of multi-compound rare-earth tungsten electrodes and processing has replaced actinoid thorium-tungsten electrodes, which solved the worldwide problem.

· The research of stability and seismic performance was applied to the steel structure on the roof of the central hall of the terminal building (seismic fortification up to 8 degrees), providing a fundamental support for Beijing Daxing International Airport.

· Based on the robot RV Reducer technologies, key component manufacturing techniques & measurement technologies, an industrial plant was established in Beijing Yizhuang Economic and Technological Development Zone.

· BJUT's research on the atomic mechanism of grain boundary sliding plasticity was published in the top academic journal Science. (Science, DOI: 10.1126/science.abm2612).

· The patented novel nanosecond all-fiber dual-cavity laser technologies based on passive modulation has been applied to the high-tech industry in Beijing. The technologies realized the independent manufacturing of fiber bragg grating which is the core component of the laser devices.

·  The prestigious international journal Nature published a research paper titled "Negative mixing enthalpy solid solutions deliver high strength and ductility", marking a significant research breakthrough in the design of alloys with high strength and ductility, as well increasing understanding of the atomic-scale strengthening-toughening mechanism.

 

· The journal Science published a groundbreaking paper titled "Borrowed dislocations for ductility in ceramics", is the first in the world to demonstrate room-temperature tensile ductility in ceramics, achieving a tensile elongation of up to 39.9% and a strength of approximately 2.3 GPa. This marks a significant advancement in the University's materials research.

· The journal Science also published research paper titled "Aromatic-aliphatic Hydrocarbon Separation with Oriented Monolayer Polyhedral Membrane." This study presents an effective solution for separating aromatic-aliphatic hydrocarbon mixtures in naphtha, offering innovative approaches for low-carbon process advancements in the petrochemical industry.

· Modelling and intelligent control methodofsewage treatment process (intelligent perception and automation technology) has been applied to Beijing sewage treatment plant.

· The research and application of sewage denitrification and de-phosphorization technology vigorously serves the capital's Green Water Protection Project.

· The research of concrete construction material and the safety of underground structures was applied to Beijing subway system and doubled the durability of its concrete structures.

· The research of traffic simulation system was applied to Beijing Olympic traffic simulation system & rapid commuting bus system.
