BJUT Students Win Multiple Jinchen Awards at the Sixth China University Game Design Competition & the Third International VR|AR Contest

The sixth China University game design and third International VR|AR competitions (the Jinchen Awards) came to a close at the Beijing Film Academy. The event attracted more than 300 creative teams from over 200 American, Japanese and Chinese universities, and over 30 leading companies. BJUT students won one prizes for first (1), second (2), third (3) and excellence (9).

 

The Jinchen Awards is a professional digital media design competition approved by the Department of Industry of the Ministry of Culture and organized by the Beijing Film Academy with the assistance of institutions around the country. Established as a professional, academic and creative event themed on creativity and talent selection, the competition offers a platform for game developers, VR/AR experts, scholars of design studies, professional designers, and college students around the world to showcase their ideas and skills. Designed to commend “creative experience, continuous innovation, distinctive artistic features and cultural contents”, the Jinchen Awards highlight diversified interpretation and presentation of cutting-edge technologies, arts and experience as well as cultural contents. It is committed to scouting for the most attractive designs, most valuable ideas, and most creative talents for universities and industry. Both the “Kinect-based Rehabilitation Exercises System” and “Virtual Reality-based Depression Rehabilitation System” supervised by Prof. Wu Weihe won second prizes in AR Application and VR Interaction Engine.
