BJUT Holds end of term Meeting for Winter Study Abroad Programs

On the afternoon of Feb 21, BJUT held an end of term meeting for winter study abroad programs. Vice President Wu Bin attended the meeting along with International Office staff, student group leaders and student representatives.

The student group leaders each gave an overview of their program and schedule and shared their activities, projects, and evaluation. They summarized insights gained and proposed suggestions regarding course classification, student management procedures, and overseas student management. The International Office provided a solid data analysis of the questionnaires submitted by participating students, and systematically summarized student satisfaction with program content, organization, and other respects, which forms an important basis for improving study abroad programs in the future.

In his concluding remarks, Vice President Wu Bin congratulated all groups on the great results they achieved and thanked all group leaders for their efforts. He noted that orientation and effectiveness of study abroad programs had been improved and shed light on future work to systematically summarize the experiences and meticulously analyze data. Prof. Wu expressed the hope that all group leaders would continue to enhance their global awareness and apply what they learned to their future work He also spoke of the importance of students translating the insights they had gained into motivation to continuously improve their international communication skills and competitiveness and build BJUT into an even more international university. He asked the International Office and other relevant departments to work on the suggestions reflected by the feedback and summaries and continue to improve study abroad programs.

During the winter holiday, BJUT worked with prestigious universities including Cambridge, Oxford, Warwick, Tokyo, and New South Wales to organize eight university-level short-term study abroad programs and one open-for-application program. 179 undergraduate and postgraduate students from 14 colleges (faculties) visited the UK, Japan, Australia, South Korea, and Tunisia for study and exchange for periods of two and three weeks.
