On the afternoon of May 9, Beijing University of Technology held the second promotion meeting of internationalization work in 2019, and Vice President Wu Bin took the chair. The leaders of the internationalization work of the secondary teaching and research institutions and the relevant personnel of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office attended the meeting.

Vice President Wu Bin said in his speech that it is now a crucial period for the international development of the university. It is necessary to seize new opportunities and attach great importance to and promote internationalization. Combining the spirit of the superior documents with the status quo of the internationalization of the university, he put forward three requirements for the promotion of internationalization by the secondary institutions: First, attach great importance to strengthening the overall leadership of the party’s foreign affairs work, “no small matter in foreign affairs”, and actively expand channels while maintaining safety awareness; second, seize the key points, actively research, fully understand the shortcomings in talent cultivation, teaching staff construction and platform construction, etc., focus on breakthroughs, promote the construction of “one ideological and political work brand for one institution”, and pay close attention to the dispatch and introduction, strengthen safety education, and strengthen risk prevention; Third, establish a mechanism to jointly manage and guide internationalization by party and government, and strengthen the management of long-term teachers and students, establish a youth tutor system, and effectively implement the two-level management of institutions and the university, so as to promote the internationalization of all secondary teaching and research institutions.

Wang Wei, Director of the International Office and the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office, conveyed the spirit of the superior documents, reported violations of foreign affairs discipline, and explained the progress of internationalization work and recent work priorities.
