Dear Faculty and Students currently resident in, or from Hubei Province,

Spring is back and we hope this letter finds you well. Though, the sudden outbreak of COVID-19 has temporarily blocked us from Hubei Province, you are in our thoughts and all BJUTers are as always concerned about the health and safety of you and your family.

The fight against the Epidemic weighs more than Mount Tai. Following the outbreak of the Epidemic, Chinese President Xi Jinping immediately issued important instructions and presided over the CPC Politburo Standing Committee to implement specific control measures, stressing “Life weighs more than Mount Tai. Epidemic prevention is the order and control is the imperative. Premier Li Keqiang’s inspection visit to Wuhan has illustrated the government’s determination toward epidemic prevention and has also reassured our confidence.

The battle against the Epidemic is a test of the University’s emergency response capability. The BJUT leadership has attached upmost importance to the safety and health of all the faculty, staff, and students, establishing a Leading Group for Coronavirus Prevention and Control led directly by the Party Secretary and the President to immediately implement effective measures for Epidemic prevention and control. Every effort is devoted to stop the spread of the Epidemic and make prevention and control of Epidemic the upmost priority.

The fight against the Epidemic depends on all Chinese people. Right now, all Chinese people are standing with Hubei people to overcome the trying time through concerted efforts. We hope you will take adequate protection, reduce outside activities, pay attention to official information, and do not spread or believe rumors. Please submit all relevant information according to the requirements of the University. Do not return to the campus before the University releases the official notice and do protect the health and safety of yourselves and your family members.

The fight against the Epidemic is a war without smoke and a war that we must win. When we are united towards the same goal, there is no mountain that cannot be climbed. When we join hand in hand, there is no barrier that cannot be crossed. We believe that with the firm leadership of the Chinese government and with the help of all Chinese people, we will definitely win the battle against the Epidemic. All BJUTers are concerned about you, and 30000 BJUTers have your back. If you encounter any difficulties, please contact your tutor and institutions for assistance. We will make all possible endeavors to solve problems for you.

Chairman Mao Zedong once wrote, “Now I am swimming across the great Yangtze, Looking afar to the open sky of Chu.” The land of Jingchu is a remarkable place and hometown to numerous outstanding people. Industrious and wise Hubei people always dared to take the first steps and created the wonders that shook the world. We will always stand with Wuhan and Hubei. We wish you a safe and sound return after the epidemic has subsided, just as sure as the season turns to spring.
