The Ministry of Education recently announced the 2019 list of Observed and Approved Results for Undergraduate Majors of Regular Institutions of Higher Education. Two majors, Intelligent Building and Landscape Architecture, advocated by Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) made the list. Until now, BJUT had a total of 67 undergraduate majors.

The two recent additions to BJUT’s undergraduate majors reflect BJUT’s adaptation of national strategies to serve the needs of local and regional economic development. Focusing on the imperatives of school administration, BJUT develops the characteristics of “Intelligence Plus” and “Green Beijing” to meet the demands of the top ten sophisticated industries and serve Beijing’s function as “four centers”. Meanwhile, the majors are of great significance for BJUT to optimize its discipline structure and to advance further as a high-level research university. Furthermore, BJUT, with the demands of Ministry of Education and Beijing Municipal Education Commission, will strengthen construction of the new majors to improve overall quality and talent cultivation.
