· BJUTers Won Prizes in the 17th Challenge Cup National College Students' Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Contest

On April 12, the 17th Challenge Cup National College Students' Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Contest came to a successful end. For the first time, all six projects of Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) were shortlisted for the national competition and granted awards. Two of them (by the Faculty of Architecture, Civil and Transportation Engineering) won the first prize, one (by the Faculty of Environment and Life) the second prize, and the other three (by the Faculties of Information Technology, Materials and Manufacturing, and Humanities and Social Sciences) the third prize. Team BJUT ranked 5th among all competing universities from Beijing and 34th nationwide in terms of total scores. BJUT's outstanding performance, as a result of winning the Outstanding Organization Award, maintains the University's position as a co-organizer of the Contest.

The award-winning projects from BJUT feature a number of different technologies applied in diverse fields, including research on intelligent subway tunnel detection system, the examination of urban ecological space, nitrogen removal on landfill leachate through partial anaerobic ammonia oxidation (Anammox), digital LDO chip design, and the key technology of flexible spline tooth shape of high performance harmonic drive. As well as in the main competition, BJUTers also won a number of national awards in other categories.

In recent years, BJUT has attached great importance to cultivating students' innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities, which perfectly aligns with the University's talent training goals and competitive programs, which have produced significant outcomes in terms of students' achievements in innovative and entrepreneurialism.
