· International Symposium on Urban and Rural Ecology with Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality Successfully Held

On September 28, the Faculty of Architecture, Civil and Transportation Engineering, Beijing University of Technology (BJUT), and the School of Architecture, Tsinghua University, jointly hosted the "International Symposium on Urban and Rural Ecology with Carbon Peak and Carbon Neutrality".

The head of BJUT Faculty of Architecture, Civil and Transportation Engineering addressed the opening ceremony. Keynote reports were delivered by Jürgen Breuste, a professor of Paris Lodron University of Salzburg and President of the Society for Urban Ecology (SURE); Prof. Pan Jiahua, a member of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and Director of the BJUT Institute of Eco-civilization Studies; and Prof. Li Feng, Director of the Center for Ecological Restoration, Tsinghua University.

An online forum for young scholars was held. 19 young scholars from Tsinghua University, Beijing Forestry University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Chongqing Jiaotong University, BJUT, and others, attended the forum and exchanged ideas on topics including urban and rural ecology, urban and rural planning, and urban design.

Ten scholars in the field of urban and rural ecology, carbon peaking and carbon neutrality were also invited to make special presentations during the conference, these attracting over 110 foreign representatives who participated online, highlighting the role of the conference in enhancing the academic influence and international reputation of BJUT in carbon peak and carbon neutrality research.
