The award ceremony of the First National Xiaomi Student Studio AIoT Development Platform Innovation Competition was held on Jan 13th. The team of Li Jiarui and Wang Yida, both undergraduates from the Faculty of Information Technology, BJUT, stood out from more than 400 teams from universities across the country and won the championship. BJUT won the "Excellent Organization Award".
Xiaomi Student Studio AIoT Development Platform Innovation Competition is initiated by Xiaomi Corporation, on the basis of co-constructing Xiaomi Studios with colleges, universities and other sources of talent with the aim of comprehensively improving students' abilities to innovate, start businesses, and explore new technologies. Since its launch, the competition has attracted more than 1,000 students from over 100 universities across China to participate.
After two months of evaluation, Li and Wang's team went through to the final competition, together with more than 20 teams from Beihang University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, Tianjin University, Harbin Institute of Technology and other universities. The BJUT project won the championship with its outstanding innovation and practicality.
BJUT started the registration and organization for this competition in late October 2022, 42 students from five faculties/colleges forming 13 teams registering. The College of Innovation and Entrepreneurship provided technical guidance and service for the students' smooth participation. BJUT actively promote university-enterprise cooperation and will deepen the cooperation with Xiaomi Corporation to provide more innovation and entrepreneurial opportunities for students, helping them cultivate their talents in high-quality innovation.
