In the 9^thChinese College Students Skiing Challenge (North China Area) held from March 1^stto the 3^rd, the BJUT ski team scooped the overall team championship, the snowboarding team championship and the alpine team championship. The University also won the "Sportsmanship Award" for its overall outstanding performance. It is the fourth consecutive year that BJUT has won the group championship for alpine skiing.

The competition attracted 253 athletes and coaches from 24 universities in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The BJUT ski team consisted of 18 student athletes from different faculties/colleges. The athletes competed fiercely in the women's alpine giant slalom, the men's alpine giant slalom, the women's parallel giant slalom, and the men's parallel giant slalom. Zhu Yiyi from the Faculty of Architecture, Civil and Transportation Engineering won the gold medal in the women's parallel giant slalom and an award for her athletic spirit.
