BJUT Students Achieve Great Wins at Beijing College Student Music Festival

The 2024 Beijing College Student Music Festival recently concluded, with 51 universities from Beijing participating. BJUT, with the highest number of submissions (seven works) winning 18 awards, received the "Outstanding Organization Award" for the third consecutive year.

Among the winners, the student choir's performance of Danza! earned both the Gold Award in the Vocal Group and the "Outstanding Instructor Award." The performance of Hela Rotan also claimed the Gold Award in the Vocal Group and the "Outstanding Instructor Award." The student choir's The Island of Stained Glass and Luk Luk Lumbu each won Silver Awards in the Vocal Group.

The student symphony orchestra's performance of Dvorak's Symphony No. 8 in G Major won the Gold Award in the Instrumental Group, along with the "Outstanding Conductor Award" and "Outstanding Instructor Award." The student marching band's Dance of Youth won the Silver Award in the Instrumental Group, while the traditional Chinese music ensemble's Silk Road took the Bronze Award in the same category.

Danza!, Hela Rotan, and Dvorak's Symphony No. 8 in G Major were recognized  in municipal-level live performances. The student choir was also invited to perform Danza! at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Beijing College Student Music Festival.
