In order to realize the aim of becoming a “world-famous, high-level research university” and cultivate open and innovative interdisciplinary talents, BJUT vigorously promotes the “open education” strategy, constantly upgrades international talents training system and explores the establishment of various multi-level student exchange programs. During the 2017 summer vacation, BJUT organized more than 250 students to go abroad to participate in all kinds of summer program, with all students successfully completing the exchange.
This year’s summer program included soft power comprehensive training programs in University of Toronto(Canada), Mini-MBA summer program in University of California at Riverside (UCR), Silicon Valley summer program in San Jose State University, summer training camp in Taiwan Chung Yuan Christian University and short-term training projects in University of Tokyo, Waseda University, Shibaura Institute of Technology and other universities. By participating in the summer program, students of BJUT not only cultivate a multicultural concept and strengthen the experience and ability of exchange through learning about the multinational local customs and cultural characteristics, but also affirm the belief to work harder for national development.
This summer BJUT also sent 128 volunteers to Germany, France, Italy, United States, Holland, Belgium, Spain, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Morocco, Japan, Finland, Armenia, Russia, Estonia, Iceland, Poland and China Taiwan and other 18 countries and regions for the international volunteer service activities. The volunteer services include environmental protection, building renovation, cultural exchanges and other projects. Through the international volunteer work camp, students of BJUT transcend the cultural, social and ethnic differences. Also in the process of working and living together with young volunteers from all over the world, they promote mutual understanding and communication, broaden their horizons and enhance the understanding of international voluntary services.
