BJUT Foreign Expert Nicholas Houston Attends Symposium Held by the Ministry of Science and Technology

The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) held a symposium on February 25 for soliciting advice from foreign experts. Li Meng, Vice Minister of MOST and head of the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, presided over the symposium. Nicholas Houston, a foreign expert at BJUT, attended the meeting and delivered a keynote speech by invitation.

Nicholas Houston thanked China and the University for providing him with excellent job opportunities and a broad platform for scientific research. He provided personal advice on a series of issues, such as the procedures for foreign experts to come to China, the acquisition of permanent residence in China, the establishment of a professional title system for foreign experts, and the expansion of application channels for scientific research projects. Foreign experts from the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, France, Sweden, India, Egypt, Japan, South Korea and other countries who work in Beijing also delivered keynote speeches on subjects such as China's international talent exchanges, science and technology management, and scientific research ethics.

On January 26, Premier Li Keqiang held a symposium in Beijing with representatives of foreign experts working in China before the Chinese Lunar New Year. Nicholas  Houston also attended the symposium by invitation. (https://english.bjut.edu.cn/info/1067/3490.htm)
