BJUT and NTU Jointly Launch Online Overseas Faculty Training Program

The online overseas faculty training program themed "Reform and innovation of teaching methods in universities" was launched jointly by Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) on October 25.

Liu Zhaomiao, Director of the International Office addressed the opening ceremony and stressed the importance of overseas faculty training in implementing the strategies of "opening-up" and "strengthening the University through talented individuals". In recent years, great efforts have been made to build an international faculty team, providing comprehensive support for BJUT's endeavors to build a world-class university and world-class disciplines, and contributing to the development strategy of Beijing as China's center for politics, culture, international exchanges, and scientific and technological innovation. She hoped that trainees will turn what they learn into practice, and play their roles in building BJUT into a world-class university.


Zhang Bo, Vice Director of BJUT International Office, presided over the meeting and provided an overall introduction to the training program and related work arrangements.

After the opening ceremony, the trainees started their first lecture given by Liu Hong, Associate Vice President of NTU. Vigorous discussion was generated by this stimulating lecture.

BJUT and NTU jointly organized the third online overseas faculty training session to broaden their horizons and improve their international teaching and management capabilities. Through a process of selection and recommendation, 40 faculty members and staff from 14 relevant departments, faculties and colleges participated in this training.
