Mechanics(Doctor of Engineering)
Objective: High-level innovative talents are cultivated to contribute to scientific research, high-tech development and support in mechanics and related disciplines, such as aerospace, machinery, civil engineering, vehicle, vessels, marine engineering, energy engineering, material science and life science with good ability to establish mathematical and mechanical models of engineering problems and provide effective solutions. Besides, they should be honest in morality and character, thorough in basic knowledge, all-round in development and physically and mentally healthy as well as be excel at practice with and certain innovation. With thorough basic theory and systematic expertise of mechanics, students thus are capable of conducting scientific research or independently undertaking specialized technical work.

Core courses: Functional Analysis, Mathematical and Physical Equations, Advanced Mechanics of Solids, Advanced Fluid Mechanics and Advanced Nonlinear Dynamics.
Featured courses: Advanced Nonlinear Computational Mechanics, Advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics, Advanced Fracture Mechanics, Advanced Plate and Shell Theory, Advanced Structural Dynamics, Advanced Composite Mechanics and Micro-System Packaging Mechanics.
Career: Ph.D. students majoring in Mechanics can choose their career in mechanics related teaching and theoretical research in research academies (institutes), institutions of higher learning and other units.
