Objective: The main purpose is to cultivate academic innovative talents in the field of urban and rural planning. The degree winner shall master solid and broad basic theories and systematic and in-depth expertise; have an international vision and fully understand the latest academic development trend of the discipline; have the ability to carry out international academic cooperation and innovation; be able to independently engage in high-level scientific research and urban and rural planning and design and management in the field.

Curriculum:Core courses: Theoretical frontier of urban and rural planning, historical theory of urban and rural planning thoughts, review of contemporary urban and rural planning, frontier of human settlements science, urban and architectural research methods

Featured courses: Thematic design of urban and rural planning, planning and design of urban physical environment, theory and practice of housing and residential area planning, protection and utilization of urban and rural historical and cultural heritage, principles of urban and rural security and disaster reduction, frontier of village and town planning, housing and urban renewal, eco city and sustainable planning.

Careerpaths:After graduation, students can enter planning and Design Institute, engineering design company, professional research institute, government agencies and real estate enterprises to engage in urban and rural planning and design, research, management, engineering consulting and other related work.
